Following the great project in the field of tourism, the “San Pietro Resort” in Durrës, one of the biggest hotel groups extended its chain of activity by investing in the capital city, in the outstanding project known as the “Eye of Tirana”.
A 5-star superior hotel will be built in the heart of the capital city, by Concord Group in collaboration with the Spanish Melia group. The agreement was signed at the premises of the Ministry of Tourism of Albania by the representatives of both companies.
“Today, we are proud to sign the second hotel agreement in Albania, after the resort located in Durres, which we believe will be hosting our guests in 2020. Today we entered into another agreement for the other hotel, which we expect to become operational in 2023. These projects represent our first and second investments, which we strongly believe will not be the last ones. We have a vast experience and know-how in this market. Albania, with a highly privileged geographical position in Europe, is one of the countries facing a rapid growth in the last five years. We are closely cooperating with the Dulaku family in Albania.”
As far as Minister of Tourism Mr.Blendi Klosi is concerned, the presence of an investor as Melia Group in Albania represents a live testimonial the strategy of the government to attract well-known international brands of the tourism industry.
“A year ago, Melia Group became part of one of the largest tourism projects, such as the San Pietro Resort at Gjiri i Lalzit, which will introduce to its guests the all-inclusive concept.”
Thanks to the experience of this group, the investment in the heart of Tirana represents one more guarantee for the standard of 5 star superior hotels, a much needed standard for our market. Currently, Melia Group operates in many countries around the world, with 420 hotels owned and over 100,000 beds.
